Ubuntu 8.04

Ubuntu 8.04

*sigh*… with this it’s now been three times ubuntu simply refuses to work on my computer. First with 7.04 the installed OS never worked properly. Later, with 7.10, I had video issues (like seen above) and now with 8.04 little changed.

I looked around on how to solve the issue and almost everyone says the same thing: “get yourself another video card”. Obviously if your throw money at the problem there is a high probability the problem will get solved. Same thing happened with my wlan card. This time around I at least got connected to the internet using the Connection Sharing feature on noesh’s puter (running WinXP). Thing is I don’t want two computers to be on when only one is going to get used.

Hopefully with another distro everything will work the way it’s supposed to. If not, I’ll try setting up a virtual machine at the very least, once I’ve got more RAM on the computer (there’s that thing again about throwing money at the problem). If it won’t work that’s too bad. I’ll keep using WinXP, which at least is now configured the way I like it.

Well, it’s not everyday you get a chance to have Sigur Ros postpone a concert on you, while good ol’ las carpas is there every weekend.

And many stick with windows cuz we’re comfy on it :)
