Of how I came to be here

Today I told the tale of my misadventures to one of my elders. Hopefully I didn’t consciously leave anything out. If I did, I wish to remember it later so I can amend the facts.

The preparation in getting to the sight of the lights.
The robbery starting due north.
The first crawling in the shadow of the mountains.
The astonishment of noise and its late companion.
The wayward causeway and the cliff
The eastern stray and the fray west.
The downhill fear and the junction at the bottom.
The last climb and the surprise at the turn of the road.
The thirst and the bitter descent.
The blockade and the rest.
The trip across the lake while talking.
The walk and the trip.
The slumber before the meeting.
The train and the bus.
The destination.
